Do you ever cook recipes or with ingredients you don’t like? Our mom does, she makes a lot of Shabbat staples over and over again, but never eats them. Our aunt Michelle is the same way. I always thought it was weird.

I do not like anise; not sure why this triple-licorice chicken recipe appealed to me, but I made it, and it was tasty, according to the people who ate it. I guess I’m weird!

Homemade Chicken Nuggets + January Linkup

Now that my son is 2 1/2, he is starting to like “Kid Food.” You know, the food they serve on children’s menus that you think to yourself, “my kid will be eating regular food, thank you!” to. Luckily for him (and me), I have nothing against kid food, as long as it’s healthy, too. Fried Chicken – December Linkup

And while all the non-kosher folks make delicious looking chicken that they soak in buttermilk, we can’t really do that. I’ve tried using rice milk or almond milk with a little vinegar in place of the buttermilk, but it’s not the same. This is the real way to do it: coconut milk! Crispy Tomato Chicken with Potato Chips

When the folks over at Kettle Brand asked if they could send us some potato chips to experiment with, I was so excited! I love potato chips, especially the extra thick, crunchy kettle-cooked ones. Jalapeño is my favorite flavor, but David likes salt and vinegar, so we switch off what we buy. But we don’t buy them often, because I don’t want to use the whole bag; I never think of cooking with them!

Orange Chicken + a Kol Foods Giveaway!

When Kol Foods offered to send me a product of theirs to review, I was super excited. I have never eaten their food before, but have been curiously browsing the site for their organic, pastured, vegetarian-fed (and delicious) meat and poultry options. I got a whole chicken in the mail. Roasting chicken whole is probably one of my favorite ways to cook chicken. It leaves it moist and juicy, and it’s fancy enough for company.

Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic

I love the taste of roasted garlic. And the smell. So, when years ago I heard of this crazy 40-cloves of garlic chicken, I knew I had to try it. And I did. Very early into my marriage. The problem?
